Jehangir Art Gallery

Located on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the Fort area of the city is Mumbai's most famous art gallery and a tourist attraction. It was founded by Sir Cowasji Jahangir at the opinion of K. K. Hebbar and Homi Bhabha.

This art gallery is today the foremost gallery to showcase art in the city. It is a large institution in itself whose History is directly associated with the revitalization of Indian art. The complex also has a popular cafe Samovar, which is reminiscent of the 70's socialist culture.

You need not be surprised if a world- famous painter is sitting next to you and sipping tea. Bombay's main art gallery is just next to the Prince of Wales Museum, displays changing exhibits by well- known Indian artists.

There's plenty of art to be seen outside as well, as the plaza in front of the building is full of artists offering their works for sale and their talents for commission assignments.
