Raksha Bandhan Festival is one of the most popular festivals in India and is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm. Raksha bandhan represents the deep love between brothers and sisters.

The sister dressed in Indian dresses puts red color tilak on her brother's forehead added with raw rice. Then she ties Rakhi thread on her brother's wrist and offers him sweets and the brother promise to protect his sister under any circumstances and give them gifts.

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon in the month of Savanna in the lunar calendar.

This festival has evolved over the years to encompass the importance of many people in Hindu society, yet foremost it continues to honor and uphold the relationship between a sister and brother.

According to Indian traditions, the festival rituals follows chanting of sacred sonnet (Mantras), sanctified with rice, red color (roli) etc.
