How right is dividing India on the name of statehood?

Fight between the people of different states is not a new thing in India and there are large numbers of people in different states which do not like the people of other states. Recently, India saw fresh violence due to this problem when one political party in Maharashtra which presents itself as guardian of people of Maharashtrian origin attacked the people of north Indian origin.
