The museum was previously known as The Prince of Wales Museum situated between the historic areas of Colaba and Fort, this museum was built in 1905 to commemorate the first visit of King George V to India.

Though, it was opened to the public only after 20 years. The wide collection of museum includes rare pieces from Elephanta and the Indus Valley.

It takes you back in time. There are miniature paintings, decorative arts, sculptures in various media, weaponry etc.

The building has a handsome and noble structure and is worth a glimpse.

Admission charges for adults are Rs. 5.00 per person, for children between: 5 to 12 yrs: Re. 1.00 per child, for School children in groups accompanied by teachers is Re. 1.00 per student and for College students is Re. 3.00 per student.
